City Life, Vivid Sydney 2012

I thought I’d end my Vivid Sydney posts for the year with snaps of my favourite artwork from the festival – the ‘City Life’ projection on Customs House created by The Electric Canvas.

A ‘city within a city’ was projected onto the sandstone exterior of Customs House, illustrating different aspects of City Life – the morning rush, the public transport, the weather, the streets and buildings.
Personally, I thought the large scale projection was a definite standout in this year’s Vivid Festival, the theme of the animations resonating so fittingly against the backdrop of the city behind it. Definitely looking forward to what will be on show next year.

Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, Sydney

After a failed attempt to organise a weekend trip to the Hunter Valley, a group of friends and I decided to spend the day wandering around the streets of Sydney.  Here are some of the happy snaps.

W Hotel, Hong Kong

I thought I’d end my series of Hong Kong posts with images of the hotel that I stayed at – the W Hotel, Hong Kong. Hong Kong is one of those cities I can revisit over and over again and still manage to have an incredible experience every time.

This time around I stayed at the W Hotel which I was really excited about, having read rave reviews on numerous design magazines. The hotel definitely lived up to it’s hype – boasting room views overlooking Hong Kong harbour, one of the best buffet breakfast’s I’ve ever visited, a well fitted out health centre and a rooftop pool overlooking the city.

As with all other W Hotels, what I particularly loved was the design detail throughout the hotel. Here are a few photos of the hotel (which you should definitely stay at if you’re ever in Honkers!)

Visions of Paradise

So I’ve realised that working full time makes you constantly daydream of where you’d rather be. It’s been 2 months now since my last voyage, which is making me increasingly itchy to pack up and leave again soon.

In The Mood: Interiors

Lately I’ve been busy moving which is a far greater process than I originally thought. In between moving things from the old apartment into the new apartment, cleaning the old apartment, updating my addresses and redecorating the new apartment I haven’t had much time to do anything else.

I have been accumulating a library of images of interiors that I like as inspiration for my new apartment.
